Helloall，我是X-Team的学术校长Nikki，今天想跟大家分享在美国学习和生活中经常会用到的几个slangwords(俚语)。好多小伙伴出国后都会发现，这些slangwords真是再常见不过了。如果你也想说一口地道的英文，就快来一起练一练吧。
❶Beat
Innormalterms,‘beat’wouldbeusedtomean‘towin’.例如我们经常听到"ManchesterUnitedbeatLiverpool!"
但在日常对话当中，如果朋友对我说“I’mbeat.”他当然不是想打人，而是想表达：我很累(verytiredorexhausted)。
例如：
-“Youlookbeat,whathaveyoubeoing?”
-“I’vebeenhelpingmydadintheyardallmorning.”
-“Doyouwanttogoouttonight?There’sacoolnewrockbarthat’sjustopened.”
-“Sorry,Ican’’mbeatandIhavetowakeuptomorrow.”
❷Sick
Sick在日常对话中不表示”生病“时，相当于”cool”，用来描述很棒或者完全是错的。
❸Chill(out)
Everybodylovestochilloutbutwhatdoesitmean?简单来说，chillout就是relax的意思，nativespeakers在使用时通常只用chill，就像下面的对话一样：
-“Hey,whatareyouguysdoing?”
-“”
但是，当朋友告诉你要chillout的时候，这就不是positive，意思是you’reoverreactingtoasituationorgettingstressedaboutsillylittlethings.他们希望你冷静下来，不要小事化大。
例如下面这个对话：
-“Ohno!?Ihavetogoonadatelater.”
-“’snotevennoticeable.”
❹Busted
如果你bust某人，意思是你发现TA正在做／说一些不应该做或者不应该说的事，或者发现他们正在藏一些不想被人发现的东西。
“Thepolicebustpeopleeveryday.”意思就是“Theycatchallthebadguysandchargethemorputtheminprison.”
例如下面这个对话：
-“Didyouhear?Thereweretwokidswhowerebustedcheatingintheirexams!”
-“Really?Whathappened?”
-“I’”

我最喜欢其中一个episode--验证hotchillicures，非常好玩。给个spoiler，他们尝试验证什么是bestremediesfor辣椒，是冰水、牙膏、牛奶，还是夸张的petroleumjelly(凡士林)？答案意想不到，竟是最传统的牛奶！
